Vallejo PAL Redevelopment ProjectOverviewLate in 2007 the Vallejo City Unified School District contracted to have the Curry School complex removed. Vallejo PAL is working with the VCUSD, City of Vallejo, and the Greater Vallejo Recreation District to transform the empty space into an athletic complex than will serve PAL, Benjamin Franklin Middle School, and the people of Vallejo. We have plans for a clean, modern facility that has 3 softball/soccer fields, off street parking, snack bar/storage facilities, and batting cages. Proper drainage is a priority which will afford year-round use. The facility will have controlled access and motion activated security lighting. The off street parking will contribute greatly to the neighborhood as PAL has traditionally used a lot of the available on-street parking on game days. Over 140 parking spaces will minimize the impact we have on the residents' daily lives. The facility will be a place where our kids can grow, learn, and feel good about the place where they spend much of their free time. Our kids deserve a top-notch facility and we plan to give it to them.
FundingWe are actively seeking help in funding this project. Corporate Sponsorship, Public Grants, and Individual contributions are gladly accepted. Local public agencies have gotten the project started but we need help in achieving our financial goals. All donations will be recognized within the complex. Contributions are tax-deductible. Large scale naming of the park based on corporate sponsorship is available.
